The first day of two-day general strike called by Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has not made adverse impact in the daily lives of the Kathmandu dwellers. The strike called in the valley is denied by the Kathmanduities themselves. The private vehicles and public transportations are abundantly running despite the strike is called. Few buses, micros and tempo are running, defying the strike on the first day of two days general strike. The security personnel are deployed in the main junctions to prevent the unpleasant incidents.
The public vehicles started to be run today early morning due to absence of less protesters and cadres in the streets in Capital. Few shops are opened after the strike was called in most of the places of the valley. But the public vehicles are in use from early Sunday morning, opposing the strike. Various parties and organisations have been calling strike on various grounds to ensure their demands in the new constitution. The Federation which has declared strike in Nepal on various phases on Sunday and Monday. They are demanding to ensure the rights of indigenous people and to retain religious secularism in the new constitution.
