In his ten minute address to the first session of the deliberation on the constitution Bill this morning, PM said all sides should participate in the discussions on the draft that was prepared after years of hard work and endorse it by forging consensus.
The PM stated that constitution is a document of compromise and therefore every demand made my all sides cannot be addressed.
“Constitution is a document of compromise,” he said. “It cannot incorporate every views and demands made by all sides.”
He expressed concern that unexpected incidents have occurred in the country over the draft although there is still room for revision in the provisions prepared after intense dialogues in the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC).
Stating that nothing can stop the promulgation of the constitution, he urged all sides to stop harboring thoughts that the process will stop, but instead unite to bring stable peace in the country.
